US Embassy in Santiago Chile, interview rescheduled

So, my wife's ir1 visa interview was supposed to be tomorrow... But she received an email today saying that for unavoidable circumstances her interview has been rescheduled for September 25. That's a lot later than we expected! She tried to reply asking for an earlier date but they just sent a confirmation of the new interview date.

Is there any way to expedite the case? Should we ask for an expedite through the NVC or directly with the embassy?

On the Santiago embassy website it says they are conducting emergency interviews for special circumstances. I have no reason to belive that they are suspending interviews now, simply there's another reason for the reschedule.

The reason why we want an expedite is because I have a new job starting mid September. Luckily it's a remote job, but the idea is that we're basically settled in the US when I start. Is this a valid reason?

Who sent the latest email?  Sounds like the case is at the consulate.....IF so, then they have control of the interview date.

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

Yes, the last emails are from the consulate. So I should try to expedite with them or are we simply stuck with the date change? Thanks for the reply.

The consulate has complete authority over your case now.
