Good day to all,

 

One of the questions online for I-130 form is passport. Since this is an F4 petition, I don't need to put the passport number, right? He doesn't have a passport yet and even if he does, it will be expired  by the time it get's approved or the visa become available.

is the passport number for the petitioner or the beneficiary? The beneficiary will need to obtain a passport at some point...and the number can be changed in the future.

I'm sorry for missing an important detail. It's the passport for the beneficiary. He doesn't have a passport yet, and I understand that he will need to get a passport at some point. However, since F4 takes more or less 2 decades, I don't see the rush of him getting a passport unless USCIS needs it at the time of filing.
