My sister(USC), who is my financial co- sponsor for my AOS (F2B case), has just moved a few days ago. I know she should file I-865, but how do we know that...

1. the USCIS  got the mail?

2.  USCIS processed it properly?

3. Who will get the receipt for I-865? Me or my sister?

4. Is it possible to call the USCIS instead?

I don't trust phone agents after reading many many threads about their inconsistencies. TBH, from my understanding, USCIS or DHS won't ever contact my sister unless I got public benefit and they want her to pay for the expense.

Any information would be appreciated. We have a lawyer for my AOS preparation, but when I asked her to proofread the I-865 draft she was like "we will charge you $325 per hour as stated in our contract". why so stingy? I know people will tell me I shouldn't be worried too much, but I don't know where I should put N/A and where I don't need to. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks. It's so stupid that you can file AR11 online but not I-865.

Also, my sister and I don't have middle name. Should we put N/A? In fact, should we put N/A in EVERY blank that doesn't apply to us?

Lastly, can we type everything on PDF form, print it, sign by hand and send the scanned copy? I have heard horror stories of USCIS being super nitpicky about certain rules so I m trying to be as perfect as possible.

You can type and print. I hope you can also do both. I say this because on of the forms I was doing last week (130/864/131/765) had a field for i-94 number that wouldn't let me use letters (but the rest worked). So i had to type in the numbers, then fill in the last two boxes in ink.

if you put N/A in the space for middle name,  they will assume N/A is middle name

leave this blank

Really? I have heard very conflicting information about this - that if you leave it blank, USCIS will assume you forgot and reject it.

Not everyone has a middle name. My spouse has a first name and two last names but no middle name. All forms were accepted with this field blank. Also, I didn't even bother to put NA on the forms for fields that did not apply. I know it is suggested but my forms were accepted without it.

Hope this helps.

Oh lol, I am so stupid. I should have read this closer. This came from i-865 Instruction page.

If a question does not apply to you (for example, if you have never been married and the question asks “Provide the name of your current spouse”), type or print “N/A,” unless otherwise directed. If your answer to a question which requires a numeric response is zero or none (for example, “How many children do you have” or “How many times have you departed the United States”), type or print “None,” unless otherwise directed.

Couldn't edit the last reply, so this is what I did.

We kinda followed along what my lawyer did for my I-485 packages - leave the middle name part  blank, while putting N/A in other parts such as interpreter, sponsored immigrant 2/3/4(I don't have any dependents), and preparer.

If you want N/A to be your middle name,  write it in the space

And once again, USCIS decides to screw with people with their bad instructions.
