I was told aside from the $170 fee for the I-129f there is also a $390 fee for the AGENT OF CHOICE, is this true ?

Normally when you file the I-130 the petition is sent to the NVC and you pay a fee bill of $70, after fee is paid they send you a choice of agent. The choice of agent is the perosn whom will recieve all the correspndence and bills from the NVC. Then the NVC will sent another bill of I believe 380 and then after paid you will get and I-864 which and affidvat and you include tax information.

Is that the process for the K3? I'm not too familiar with K3 having gone the K1 route. The OP doesn't state which process she and her fiancé are taking.

No, it is not true. Choice of agent does not apply to K1. For the visa categories to which it does apply, there is no fee for choice of agent. This is not a rumor. It is simply false.

However, there is a $380 adjustment of status fee after you arrive and are married. That fee goes up to $1010 on July 30, 2007. Perhaps that's what was being spoken of.
