Hello guys I have a question, can i ask my case to be expedited if I have a medical issue? How would the moroccan embassy see that? If refused, would that be a detriment to my case? Thanks in advance.

There are specific criteria and documentations needed for expedite requests.  Expedites are generally done only to benefit the USC.

Morocco is a tough embassy - you won't be able to expedite AP/background checks etc.

A refusal of an expedite request does not affect the visa application.

Thank you! I know they are tough but it is an important request. I just thought that it might hurt my case

According to previous posts your husband is the USC and only he can ask for this

he can ask to expediate case and if successful,  the paperwork here will be a little faster

medical condition??? some like TB will not help the case

but even,  if expediate is accepted,  you will not get an interview as long as casa embassy still closed to interviews and the city in lockdown

Ap can last a year after that as experienced by a member here whose wife was from Fes

Be prepared to wait

this whole process requires patience

the Difference?

in normal times an expediated application would get a faster interview/  now,  no interviews are going on

When the Casa embassy opens ,  they still are going to do the cancelled CR1's 1st and then others

you do not have a timeline so i had to go thru past posts to get an idea of your current situation and looks like your case is from April

no matter what else is going on with the covid ,   USCIS is going to furlough 70% of its workers here next week as the government did not approve giving money to help them

and that means a bigger slow down

i am so sorry for this happening to all on here as it is heartbreaking

stay strong and pray

The processing times would still slow down considerably according to USCIS. https://www.uscis.gov/news/news-releases/uscis-averts-furlough-of-nearly-70-of-workforce

That's not the reason...the House passed a bill but the Senate has not voted on it, and then the POTUS has to sign it.

New news The furlough will not happen at this time

congress has until end of September to decide to help or not/  new fiscal 2021 year starts October 1st

so, pray

and the best of everything to you both

luckily you did the CR 1 and have a much better chance at a visa in Casa than the K1  people if :

the USC husband has spent quality time with you

you do not have a big age difference (like over 10 years)

you are the same religion (if only on paper)

and you agree on having or not having children

USCIS just released some news that they actually have a $230 million surplus. They were fearmongering everyone with the claims that they needed almost $600 million this year and $600 million next year. They cut some costs and voila!- no furlough!

Despite the fact furloughs will no longer occur, USCIS still mentioned on their site under the news section that cutting operational costs would still prolong processing times which I don't understand. They are still retaining their human resource, there's no change in administrative costs I believe. Only operational costs are being cut down. I see no point in prolonged processing times. I understand the COVID situation did create a back log of cases but I would love to see processing times being shortened by the end of this year atleast. Economies are now opening up, things are getting kind of back to normal. USCIS should speed up too. Like their efficiency really is questionable.

They're retaining their own employees. Contractors are being let go or letting the underlying contracts expire at the end of the fiscal year. These are staff that prepare and process paperwork used by the actual IOs to make decisions, so it would negatively impact processing timelines.

I see, thank you for clarifying. Originally thought they are retaining all kinds of workforce.
