I just received an email from the NVC today saying that my case was sent to the Tokyo embassy. And the status on the CEAC site is now "in transit." Do you have a copy of the P3 for the Tokyo Japan embassy, Greenbaum? And the next steps would be getting the documents listed in the P3, filling out the DS 160, and scheduling the interview once the case status changes to ready?

I answered this in your other post.

Yes, but refer to the P3 instructions to be sure of the sequence and when to execute these steps. Each embassy is different I don't study all of them to know their differences.

No problem at all, I understand you're really busy responding to many different people.

I really appreciate your response and all the useful resources. I'll follow the steps and join in on the Japan thread if I have more questions. :)

I want to start gathering info for the affidavit of support, but I just wanna know how far in advance can I do this? I want to start getting my bank statements, and my employment verification letter. If I get this in january, but the embassy doesnt open until the summer will it still be valid? If I change jobs after I send it in will I have to notify them even if it's still above the poverty limits they want?

I want to start gathering info for the affidavit of support, but I just want to know how far in advance can I do this? When in doubt when to complete something it's always better to error on the side doing it closer to the interview. Then if anything changes in your circumstances than you can update and bring to the interview.

I want to start getting my bank statements, and my employment verification letter. If I get this in January, but the embassy doesn't open until the summer will it still be valid? They are looking for the most current information at the time of the interview. So, again I stress it's better to wait till you have an interview date to complete.

If I change jobs after I send it in will I have to notify them even if it's still above the poverty limits, they want? Yes, they want to be assured you are employed or that you are a student just graduating and are beginning your job search.

This is the maximum documentation that you will need for any embassy to prove you are above the poverty level and won't become a ward of the state..

EVIDENCE OF SUPPORT: You must submit any evidence which will show that you and members of your family who will accompany you are not likely to become public charges while in the United States. Visa petitioner (US Citizen) will have to complete form I-134. If the petitioner does not qualify as a sponsor, a Joint-Sponsor should present (any US Citizen living in the US or Legal Permanent Resident), who will also have to complete form I-134. Both the Sponsor (Petitioner) as well as the Joint-Sponsor, will have to present last year's income tax return transcripts. W2 form and proof of current and sustainable income (e.g., letter of employment on letterhead including salary and start date, most recent salary receipts, bank accounts, the value of properties, etc.). You may download the I-134 affidavit at https://www.uscis.gov/i-134. Bank statements in place of a letter from the bank will work just fine. Print the statement that shows the opening balance for a month and the closing balance for that month. Do that for 12 months—no need to print off all pages of a bank statement.

Get the IRS transcript in place of the actual 1040 here:

https://www.irs.gov/Individuals/Get-Transcript

Use this link to determine the income levels needed https://www.uscis.gov/i-864p. I have added a screen shot of a short cut you can take and that is copying only the statement page with the beginning balance at the start of the month and the ending balance for the end of the month. Much easier.

anyone have their case forwarded to the embassy?

Yes, some are reporting that their file has been sent to their embassy. The way I know this is I read the previous pages and used the timeline link in everyone that I checked, and I was able to unearth that tidbit of knowledge. Many tools here on VJ to use.

We need a little housekeeping on your end. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

We got our case in transit to the embassy around the 8th Dec, and it changed to ready around the 14th. But no P3 received so far... I sent them an email and they told me they were awaiting guidance from the Department of State.

HI. In the PDF attached to the first post on the first page I authored that if you ask me for the P3, that I can share most embassies P3 as I have worked to receive most. So here is an early Christmas present for you.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1UsM5rUke5AZ3kH8HQf7SNRSxhtHiqzAS/view?usp=sharing

https://es.usembassy.gov/visas/immigrant-visas/fiancee/how-to-apply/

Spain requires the embassy send the packet 3 which allows the beneficiary to schedule and attend the medical and needs to be brought to the medical appointment, and in order to book the interview Spain requires packet 4. I have not verified this but this information came from someone who processed recently.

A wet signature is not required for the I-134 that will be presented at the interview.

Procedure for Obtaining: For information about how to request the” Certificado de Antecedentes Penales” you can visit the following web page mjusticia.gob.es.

I wanted to ask something in case someone is on the same or similar situation. Our case got updated after a couple months "at nvc" to in transit around Dec 8th. Then it got to ready on Dec 14th. That was the "Case last updated" on the website since then, but just now we realized that it says still Ready but "Case last updated" today, Jan 27th 2021, is that normal since it was already in Ready for over a month? Thanks in advance!
