Hi, I had my interview on 24th august and I was refused because they had not received my medical yet. I had my medical on August 12th. They told me that I would be approved once they recieve my medical given that it Is all clear. Has anyone else been in that position? How long does it take for them to process my visa?

We are in the same position right now, our medical didn't arrive in time; don't worry it happens to people all the time, once they get your medical they will approve it granted everything else was good, but if your CEAC status doesn't change soon you may want to call them to ask if they got it yet or not, and possibly also call the medical office to make sure it was sent

Our CR1 Journey:

USCIS Stage:

  • Sep 19 2019: I130 NOA2 (Approved - 217 days from NOA1)

NVC Stage:

  • Sep 27 2019: Sent to Department of State
  • Oct 31 2019: Case number received (34 days since sent)
  • Nov 1 2019: IV & AOS fees received & paid
  • Nov 14 2019: IV & AOS submitted
  • Dec 18 2019: All docs accepted, but one additional doc requested (5 weeks from submission)
  • Dec 18 2019: Requested doc submitted
  • Feb 19 2020: Documentarily Qualified (9 weeks from 2nd submission, 14 weeks from first submission)

Currently waiting on a K1 visa interview here in London, my medical will run out of date sept 2020. I keep trying to get an appointment but it says there’s none available?
how did you manage to book one?

any help would be great, I feel like I’m going mad! 😂😫 x

Don't go mad. Many embassies are processing spousal visas (CR-1) but not K-1 visas right now (as spouses are immediate family, unlike fiancés). OP applied for a spousal visa. You applied for a K-1 so you may have to wait quite a while longer unfortunately.

K-1: 12-22-2015 - 09-07-2016

AP: 12-20-2016 - 04-07-2017

EAD: 01-18-2017 - 05-30-2017

AOS: 12-20-2016 - 07-26-2017

ROC: 04-22-2019 - 04-22-2020
Naturalization: 05-01-2020 - 03-16-2021

U.S. passport: 03-30-2021 - 05-08-2021

Thank you all for your replies! My case has now gone from 'refused' to 'administrative processing' I'm guessing that means they have received the medical?

Hi! My case has also gone from refused to administrative processing on the 26th (same reason, waiting for medical). Do you have any updates about your case? Has your visa been issued yet?

thank you

Out of interest, when was your medical appointment? I'm trying to gauge how long it is currently taking for the results from the medical to be transferred over to the Embassy.

Medical takes 5 business days to be sent. Mine was on a Wednesday (19th) and was supposed to be there by the next Wednesday (26th). However, because my interview was on the 24th, I told visa medical and they assured me they will send my report sooner if they get my blood results sooner (which they did). They got my blood results on Monday and so they sent my results Monday afternoon.

Great thanks. Although 5 business days is typically quoted, based on the below post, it sounds like there is currently an issue on the Embassy side with the computer system not always recognising medical reports within that time frame (so it may take a few more days)

I had my medical on the 12th and interview on the 24th. I called visa medicals after my interview and they said they had already sent my medical but with the new system the embassy has trouble accessing them sometimes, so yes that is where the delay was!
