Honestly, everyone I know was a Warren or Harris or Bernie supporter and they are all motivated to vote. I read it on friends' Facebook pages, people who say, yes, I'm selling out voting for that corporate shill Biden, but this isn't about me this time. I am still Facebook friends with the anarchist and even he is voting for Biden this time and encouraging his friends to do so as well. But beyond that there has also been a lot of reporting lately about enthusiasm levels growing when it comes to voting against Trump. Yes, against. It's not really necessary to be bought into Biden to vote for him. Just as there were many Trump supporters who voted for him who found him politically expedient but personally awful.

Where are you reading that Democrats are going to stay home?

Not reading, but people I talk to.  Anecdotal at best just as your stories are, but Joe has no excitement behind his candidacy, and adding Senator Harris did not do anything to change that.

The populist left tend to have good memories (and reading so many of their posts, the vindictiveness is even more prominent than in 2016), and being called Russians for the last 4 years and attacked because of voting for someone besides Hillary by people telling (or even begging) them to vote Biden I'm sure is going to really work wonders this time around. 😂

People tend to win elections by actually bringing more broadly to them. Why would a populist lefty, moderate, or independent vote Biden, knowing how much further they've been alienated from the Democrats over the last 4 years? It's like Person A trying to bridge a gap with Person B, with Person B asking A what their compromise is.. and Person A saying to punch yourself in the nuts endlessly. What are the odds Person B gets their boxing gloves? Overall, low, but you do see the effect that bullying+berating has on their level of cognitive dissonance, especially those visibly on their knees to BLM. Trump knows he's on the winning side, he just has to make many scared people understand it.

👍  Out of upvotes.  I really need to get on that super secret Platinum Plan.  I wonder if there is a Diamond level.

On another note, I keep hearing a political ad touting that Joe Biden has the experience to fix the economy. Of course being a political ad from a Leftist PAC it is long on truthfulness and short on substance, so can anyone help me understand what experience Old Joe has with fixing the economy?

All I've seen Biden say he'd do (reiterating days ago at the DNC) is shut things down. That'll fix it good. 🙄

The approach of this elite right now is basically to punish the US as much as possible and foment chaos for voting for Trump so people will all go running back to them. They're actually using the abusive husband=>battered wife approach. Even more amazing are the people coming back for more. 🤡

They have a lot of learned helplessness to instill in a very short time.

I can, but as I've said before, I'm not required to. There's no "you must post this many words about where your political thoughts are about a candidate" rule to participate here. Maybe it's for platinum members only?

Just come out and say, "I have no compelling arguments".  5 words vs. a small paragraph.

Who is belittling anyone personally.  In fact doing that would be against the TOS I believe.  People can vote however they want, and most of us here do not look to be labeled which is probably one of the reasons many do not follow the DNC's strategy of identity politics.

So how does labeling Democrats or Biden supporters Marxist, anarchists, socialist(I assume you are using that in the Venezuelan sense) not create unneeded and inaccurate labels against a broad group of people based on their beliefs?

Don't labels generally describe actions?  I don't remember any of the Democrats speaking out against the violence occurring in multiple places, and in fact I have heard several encouraging it.  Does this mean all people that choose to vote Democrat condone it?  Certainly not, but they are turning a blind eye to the direction the Party is heading.  Btw, they are not anarchists, but rather anarcho-communists.

So if I vote for Joe Biden, I am supporting anarcho-communist and Marxism and violence. That statement holds no water.

The problem I see it is that it is difficult when apparently if you vote Trump you are a White Supremacist, Neo Nazi etc etc, so should it not work both ways, or preferably none.

After 4 years of labels is it a bit much to complain now?

Well, as others have said, a vote for Trump gets one labeled many things, the least of which is a Deplorable, along with a few other choice derogatories.

Bringing back to the top of this page, you said applying a general label to a broad group of people (Democrats or Progressives)  is not an attack in this forum even when over generalized or inaccurate.  Do you have examples, in this forum, where Republicans or Conservatives have been labeled broadly as Racist, anti-immigrant, National Socialists?

If so why did the mods not step in?

More to the point of this thread, 7-9 % if the voters of this country are swayable. How does applying those labels help either side reach their goal of electing their choice for President?

Go back to the threads in early November 2016.  As to the supposed swayable folks, they can decide for themselves.  There was a long list of accomplishments over the past three plus years for the current President, these folks can compare that to the actual accomplishments of the other candidate, and then make a decision and choose to vote for one of those two, vote for a third Party, or choose not to vote at all.

So in recent memory you have no examples of Republicans being broadly labeled as Racist, Anti-immigrant, or National Socialist? 2016?

And yet I see Democrats routinely labeled with negative stereotypes in this thread.
