I don't think it is a pro for the vast majority of states.....

It is interesting how much media attention is placed on Never Trumpers crossing over.  John Kasich was a media darling last week.

Btw, Bernard Goldberg pretty much says the same thing.

As regular readers of my column know, I’m no fan of Donald Trump. And that’s putting it mildly.

I don’t like his chronic dishonesty. I don’t like narcissism. I don’t like his nastiness and his silly name-calling. I detest his need to constantly cause chaos, as he did with a recent tweet suggesting we should postpone the 2020 presidential election. There’s nothing about this man’s character that I like.

And I hope he wins re-election in a landslide.

I hear pundits and politicos advertise all the time how they or their camp loves their country and the other side is; Marxist/Fascist/Racist/fillintheblank*ist, and they alone hold the true path. So someone saying the other side is evil is a perfect reason to discount what they have to say.

I am not interested in the Democratic or Republican brand, Just what the Presidential candidates plan to do, and the case for how they will do it.

I have not heard an apologist for either side make that case.

If your claim is a lack of interest in the "brand" of either party, it would make sense then to go by actions rather than focus exclusively on what they "advertise". For whatever you may think of GOP patriotism, which I'm skeptically watchful of ever since the GWB freedom fries era, I don't see them burning American flags, trashing American monuments, destroying American cities, and trying to wipe out the American national identity.

That being said, it makes little sense to limit yourself to two choices if you've actually seen a ballot when there's not only countless third party choices but write-ins as well.

Dems are chasing populist leftists away too. It's not an inviting group of people when they call those who voted for Stein (those who walk the walk of the Dems little virtue signal politics) "Russians", and trash people voting for Bernie. They act like their base is growing but its merely the political elite up top who are getting neocons and intelligence/administrative state crybabies who don't represent any meaningful part of the population.

The Republican appeal is growing because of Trump. People weren't interested in pathetic frauds like McCain and Romney.

Honestly, I look at this more holistically rather than just the office.  It is very clear that the Democrat Party has shifted toward the far Left which is interesting when you look at some of their past strategies.

The Nation has shifted to the left: It is younger, more urban, more single women with independent incomes and less white.  Those groups lean toward progressive policies.

Usually we see that Party try to position themselves toward the center of the political spectrum, but that is not happening here.

This added to the fact that they are enabling the riots that are occurring particularly in the NW which I assume you are familiar with, and the fact that they are advocating the tearing down of  institutions tha t the majority of times are there for the protection of the people drives me further from them.

I see this narrative being driven in the media. I have been to Seattle multiple times and don't see the warzone that is being portrayed.  Definitely tension with the police though, that has been years in the making.

Sure every person is different, but in this environment of Party First, I cannot just look at the differences between two people.

The topic at hand is the Executive office. Buying into one party or another is not my gig, sorry.

So I will put it to you to show us your list of Pros for the two candidates?  I would think you already have an opinion of the two men.

Btw, the median age within the US has gone up by 10 years since 1970, so I don't buy into the Nation being younger.  Progress is not a bad thing, but the Progressive platform being touted by Joe Biden is very disturbing to say the least and has morphed from a social improvement movement to an anti-Constitutional movement.  Joe Biden has totally embraced the far Left which is par for the course in his 47 years of public service, he tends to follow the crowd and is really not a leader.  Honestly, this is one of the main Pros I attach to Donald Trump, even being in the WH for three plus years, he is still an outsider in the Washington DC elite circles.

I’m sorry to ask but does the social and dl need to be updated in order to register to vote??? (From permanent resident to US Citizen?

I was wondering if you need to update your citizenship status before registering to vote.

I know at my wife’s naturalization ceremony she was able to register to vote right there.  She updated her SSN a few weeks later.

Good Luck!

Stein is not a credible progressive.  Republican appeal may be growing under Trump, but it is not growing fast enough to keep Georgia, Arizona, Texas out of play for federal elections. It is an uphill battle.

What's the uphill part? Trump took formerly Obama voting districts in Michigan, Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania, etc. that hadn't voted for a Republican in 20-60 years, made them "in play" and his to lose.

The idea of the KKK-Republican is perception, and that perception is driven by a media that now has as much credibility as Alex Jones, and coincidentally, a following like Alex Jones too.

What's the "not credible" basis on Stein? She speak Russian?

I would not vote for anybody older than I am, and both contenders exceed that by a margin.

Quite worrying that this is the best the US can offer.

Well if you have been watching his stuff over the last couple of months you can tell he has been leaning that way for months now. I watch/listen to him almost daily and actually have him on right now because he is interviewing a Sean Parnell a Congressional candidate from PA right now

This is not a thread for attacks on these men.

What I want to know, how will it help me to choose one or the other? Where should my vote go to help me, my family, community and nation?

What are the Pros of electing Donald Trump?

What are the Pros of electing Joe Biden?

If you are none of the above, how should I spend my vote? Or stay at home?

Why do you have to choose one or the other? Screw the "lesser of two evils". I have standards that likely no politician will ever live up to so I'm likely stuck voting for myself for the rest of my life.
