I understand there is much frustration now with all of the delays, etc., but I have to say that my visits and experience with Thailand are much different than what I am reading here.

My father was stationed in Thailand during the Vietnam War and he was always treated kindly by everyone he met. The Thai people were always kind and friendly to the military at that time.

I have been to Thailand a couple times and I met many people through my Fiance (and visited many places in Thailand) and everyone was very kind and considerate to me. Between Japan and Thailand I don't think I've seen more polite cultures.

My Fiance tells me that there are protests and many people are very upset that the country is closed right now. I find it hard to believe that 95% of the country wants to remain closed.

Trump is pushing 80 years old and it's not uncommon for the elderly to mispronounce certain words. Seems kind of harsh to make fun of him for that.

As for changing course this late in the game with a visa: unless you have concrete evidence to suggest a change will benefit you, chances are you are better staying in the current line you are in instead of going to the back of a new line.

Bangkok will process certain K1 visas under special conditions from what I understand. I don't know the specifics though.

Be well. Find peace.

If you have an option to just do spousal (CR1/IR1) visa, I would suggest you to do that. One of my friend did the K1 visa and right now she is in the US doing her adjustment status and it has been 6 months since she apply and still haven't got her green card. She said if she know it will be complicated then she would have chose the CR1/IR1. We just never know how long gonna be the process, as it may vary for everyone. And plus start from October with the new immigration rule in the US adjustment status will cost more and expensive. I know that procedure to get married is complicated sometimes, but if you think you can figure it out, it better to deal that way, just an idea. :)

Do you speak Thai? If you do, you will learn a lot; especially what Thais think about other countries than their own. Read a little of the official Thai history for starters. Or ask a Lao, Khmer, Burmese, Karen or Shan (Tai Yai) person. Or ask your Fiance to sing a song called เนื้อเพลงแปลเป็นภาษาอังกฤษ to you and translate the lyrics. Good luck.
