I believe today is the day Montreal has cleared/is clearing IR/CR-1 Covid reschedules. As having originally been slated for 29 Apr, our new date is set for Oct.

30 Apr, a Thursday, has not generally been an IR/CR-1 interview day.

I anticipate the consulate likely will be focusing on rescheduling K-1 cancellations now--this is NOT the thread for that discussion--and may resume monthly batch IR/CR-1 interview processing soon.

Hi all - My wife and I were just "Documentarily Qualified" on August 12th. It sounds like it is going to be a while before we get an initial interview date given what I'm reading on this forum - a long backlog for the consulate to go through due to COVID-19 closures :( Sorry to those of you who have been rescheduled and are having to wait so long!

We are wondering if we should be doing anything on our end to initiate the process to get an interview date? I've seen information about "Packet 3" and "Packet 4" on the consulate's website and I am wondering if we should fill out Packet 3 to send over? Or is that something we should be receiving from the consulate *after* they have scheduled our interview date? We're just trying to make sure there is nothing to do from our end. Thanks for any information!

We also recently DQ'd Sept. 2nd, and from my understandings there is not a whole lot we can do to push along our files unfortunately, just simply await an email notifying us of the interview date (which I understand comes about a month prior the date). I have hope that since they are only focusing  on IR1/CR1 and K1 that this allows them to keep the flow going and with some luck we could hear something sooner than my expectations of next June if we extrapolate the prior COVID delay and add atop that. Here's to wishful thinking and patience !🤞🙌🙏

Has anyone from the COVID reschedule list had to do a RCMP background check over again before the 1 year expiration? Our lawyer is telling us that the background check must be within 90 days now. But she has told us other stuff that was not true.

Hope everyone's went well.

Thanks

Yes some of them have had to do re do their certificates. No your lawyer is not correct and the year timeline is still valid.

My wifes was redone due to expiring in June 2020. Our lawyer is telling us it's now only good for 90 days. Just wondering if anyone here was told about the 90 day validity? Like I said our lawyer has been a wealth of useless info or no info.

No one that has interviewed has mentioned this, nor has the official site changed to reflect this (it still says 1 year). We've also been talking to our lawyer about interview documents and they've mentioned no such thing despite the fact that I will need a new police check. If your lawyer is known for giving bad information, this is likely just more of that.
