I sent the visa bill a while back and now waiting for NVC to generate DS-230 instructions. I didn't find anything in the DS-230 instructions but I am curious if I (the USC father) should be filling it out and signing on the 2 year old's behalf or should it be the mother who is going through IR-1 processing? Any experience with infant/baby DS-230 filings?

My wife [beneficiary] filled out the DS 230 for our child and signed for her.

If you have legal custody you can fill it out also.

Just wanted to ask if you are the biological father? You said that you are a USC if so I believe the child is also a citizen by birth to a USC parent.

I am the biological father, but became a USC after the child was born.
Easiest to just have moms sign the DS 230 for your child. I filled out both forms for my wife and stepchild and my wife signed both of them. Paid for both also but didn't have to pay the $70 Biometrics for the our child. Came to $820 total if I remember right.
