am i in the danger zone? 60 days until green card expiration

My wifes green card expires in 60 days from today? Are we in the danger zone? I do plan to send it in, im just not rushing, but what is the danger zone for being too late before they reject it?

You aren’t in the danger zone yet but there are no advantages in waiting... you want it to be received before her status expires and ideally have the NOA1 in hand

Due to pending USCIS furlows (70% employee layoffs) I would file sooner rather than later. Covid and budget issue have already slowed processing of applications so if you want to be on time with your application file it soon. Keep in  mind i751 fees are going up October 2nd. Keep in mind the post office may also have delays if you use them.

 

You are required to file before the expiration date of the conditional green card. If you file late you need a good reason why you filed late or they may not accept your application.

From what I've read, it could be sent in as early from 90 days before the GC expires.

 

I doubt there would be an issue but at times like this in a covid corrupting timelines, best to submit it asap and get the NOA!

I was waiting for my divorce to finalize and filed 2 weeks before the expiration date.  You'll be fine.

 

I'd send it as soon as possible though.  If you send it towards the exp date and there is a mistake, they will send it back to you.  You might end up being late.
