So I don't think this'll count for any EAD approvals after August 20.

Sure, but there are so many people stuck in biometrics backlogs that this will benefit.

I mean, it's going to be a while before you get the EAD in your case regardless.  You'll have your biometrics before any approval notice, I'd imagine.
