Hi there. The I-130 was submitted in 2007 with the beneficiary's maiden name, which has since changed on legal documents. The application is now with NVC. What is the best way to inform them about the name change and should this name change be addressed in DS-260 or at the interview stage? Is this going to potentially put the application at risk? The marriage certificate and birth certificate of the beneficiary has the maiden name which was used during application. Please also note that the beneficiary was married a long time ago before the application was placed in 2007. However, the beneficiary decided to make the change after around 2011 in all official documents. Please advice. Thanks in advance. :)

Family based immigration/green card application.

Yes, but there are family preference categories.   What is the beneficiary's relationship to the petitioner

YMMV
