What do you mean?  There is absolutely nothing requiring embassies to resume or perform visa interviews at the moment.  They all have discretion to open (or not) for regular business based on several parameters, including local COVID status.

Having a USC child confers no actual status or benefit.

Here we go, your answer clearly describes mainstream US policy , which is - we don't  care  about US citizens.

Embassy is  there  to assist citizens and serve them no matter what under all circumstances, find ways, solutions etc. In nowadays they just shut the doors.

At least those useless people could answer the phones when citizens call there to find clarifications to situations they got, they don't even do that. You need wait 1 month just to get email reply, lmao. Embarrassment is just a word from the books for them.

And there is nothing to defend here anymore, so it is time to spit on that passport and throw it in their face and leave.

Embassy's dysfunctional attitude, will lead to separated families for many years to come at least that is in  my case, and reverse engineering does not work, they modified straight away so many procedures due to covid19  but still rely on main immigration laws and pointing fingers to everyones face what is right what is wrong, pathetic.

You can read  proclamation from the white house everything is said there regarding US citizen children and much more.
