So i understood, the attorney will only check (the checklist is available though) and submit the documents WE gathered and the forms WE filled, and then will check the process progress? This means hiring an attorney will have no added value on making the process faster?

lack of time, my fiancé (US citizen) is very busy and won't be able to follow the process. We thought maybe hiring an attorney may help.

I would use a visa service, before I would use an attorney.  Not only will they be cheaper, they are probably more up to date on your particular embassy / consulate rules and things needed for the actual interview.

K1 is a fairly easy process that I would say someone with about an 10th grade education should be able to do on their own, the hardest part is gathering all the paperwork which you will have to do regardless, filing the petition is the easy part.

she mentionned 12 to 18 months as an average processing time from start to finish depending on where the alien fiancée lives, but didn't mention anything about my country (Morocco).

Morocco is a key point in your responses, as the US embassy in Casablanca carefully scrutinizes relationships and based on other VJ members it has a reputation as a long, difficult process, especially for K-1 visas.  I suggest that you do more research on what it takes to get a K-1 approved for Morocco, it's much more difficult than from many other countries, denial rates are higher, the process much longer.  Many who are refused a K-1 end up getting married and trying for a spousal visa after many visits and time spent together.  Good luck!

Ok, i will inform my fiancé and try to do things by ourselves then. Thank you for making it clear to us.

Use the guides from the blue ribbon. Go to the blue ribbon above, select "guides" then "immigration guides" scroll down and select the K-1.  Select "guides if you are engaged": and select ----- K1 Fiancé Visa Guide.

There you will find what is needed to complete the I-129f, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e). Use the check list to insure you have everything. Return to VJ to ask questions. We all have done this, and most have stuck around to help others. Good luck and stay engaged.

Wise decision. We've done ours without an attorney. Save your money.

Read over the forums on here and you'll be fine.

No fancy binders, just keep it simple.

Ours was approved for NOA2. We're waiting on the embassy to open up for his interview.

That is precisely what all these people have been trying to tell you.
