Hi,

We received a case update today saying our interview has been cancelled, it was previously at ‘Interview to be Scheduled’.

I contacted USCIS as soon as I saw and they said they didn’t have any information and to just wait for an appointment letter, very unhelpful.

Does anyone know what this means?

Thanks in advance!

It  means either the interview will be rescheduled...or they are waiving the interview......look for the letter or another status update soon.

Great, thanks for this, here’s hoping for it being waived.

It means the existing appointment was canceled. Nothing more.

As for why it was canceled, it could be anything from the IO being out, planned/unplanned building issues, new training, etc. It could be they are considering to waive the interview. It's really impossible to know why. It is not a sign of anything wrong with your case.

When did you file? I am also waiting for a DC interview.

June 4th, but it was expedited, as I originally filed through consular processing in 2019 and change due to Covid.

The status was "Ready to be Scheduled for an Interview" or "Interview was scheduled"?

Did you move recently and filed a change of address?

If it was ready to be scheduled, the new update is probably a mistake.

I asked about the change of address because that usually causes this update.
