We got our NOA1 today. Not the most exciting part of the process but hey it's a start :D Thought I'd share

Found it weird though.. says my file is pending at the National Benefits Center. I thought they were processed at the CSC or VSC ?

Leaving to see my husband for a week tomorrow. Which me luck at customs at the Dorval Airport in Montreal. Bringing a letter from my employer, our I-130 and I-129f file so far, my lease(even if it expires on July 31st), utility bills, pay stubs, my work scheduled that shows that Im on vacation. Anything else you think wise I should bring ? Or do I seem covered ? I get so stressed that they'll deny me entry :( Oh and I have my itinerary of course that shows my return flight on July 2nd.

Thanks a bunch for the advice :)

Agreed... seems like you have enough proof so you should be good at the PFI.

Congratulations on the NOA1 it may not be exciting but it is a step closer to being with your SO.

Every little bit is a piece of the puzzle, congrats!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Well, I had less problems at customs this time than I did last time when I was visiting my boyfriend and not husband. Then again, I think the guy was distracted cuz when he asked me why I was going to Colorado, another customs agent talked to him, he handed me my passport and said have a nice trip. :)

It's also the first time my bags didn't get opened.

*Note to self, apparently, cleavage is a good thing at customs :P
