Hey Everyone!

I immigrated here on a K1 visa just over 2 years ago in June 2018. I now have my 2 year green card (I am 13 months into it). I have not been back to the UK since December 2019 due to Covid-19 and my Dad hasn't been able to visit me here in the states either. We have tried to be patient, but I don't want to spend Christmas without seeing my Dad! If airlines are starting to provide flights again, will I be able to travel to the UK in December and then be allowed back into the states again? Or will they not let me enter because I am not a citizen yet?

I know that nobody has answers right now and it's such an uncertain time!! Just looking for a little bit of guidance

As a Green Card holder and as a spouse of US citizen, you can enter the US directly  from UK.......currently.

I agree, you will be fine coming back to the US as a US LPR with the exception that you may be asked to self-quarantine upon your return.  I am not up on the UK travel restrictions, but I expect since you are a UKC, you would be admitted with the possible need to self-quarantine.

Good Luck!

If you went to the UK today from the US, there is an online contact form to fill out up to 48 hr before arrival.  You would have to quarantine for 14 days at the address you give on the form. That applies to UK citizens and visitors. You basically can go in the garden and such, but not leave the residence to shop or visit other homes.

There is a list of “arriving from” countries that do not trigger quarantine. It changes often so what happens in a few months is a guess.

Wow so UK is letting anyone "IN" as long as they pinky promise they will quarantine for 14 days :)

My husband (Irish citizen) is in the same boat. His family had a big trip here planned for June. That got canceled (they actually all got COVID...they are fine now). He had a flight for next week to go home. It just got canceled. It *seems* he could go, but he'd have to quarantine for 14 days upon arrival and then quarantine for 14 days upon return. So he'd have to take four weeks off from work and that would assume not doing anything in Ireland once there. And then there's the risk of seeing his elderly and immune-compromised father after flying...he was lucky to go home at the end of February (flew back literally the week before lockdown), but this will be the longest he's gone in his life (and we're in our mid-40s) without being home. We watched a travel show about Ireland the other night and he was tearing up. This is hard :(

I’m also in the exact same situation. I’m trying to go home to see my family in December. Has there been any changes to this process and has anyone flown into the U.K. recently?

if I was to fly, would my US Citizen wife be able to enter and return to USA without issue?

Thanks
