Hi all

Just want to find out from all emmigrants what you brought with you from home to the US. I am marrying a USC in September 2007, filing for K3 and have the eventual aim of naturalization - I want to expire the affidavit of support asap. I am emmigrating from the UK shortly after being resident for 7 years, and was wondering what kind of records I need to keep of my life here in Scotland that I will need in future. Or do I need any? I am trying to cut down on moving stuff see..

I am hoping that birth certificate, drivers license & passport will suffice, and that future applications will be mainly focussed on documentation of my life in the US? However, I have paper bank statements, mortgage statements, tax statements, wage slips going back about 3 years that I could bring etc. What should I bring? I might add that I have not been self-employed, so my tax is up-to-date.

Many thanks

Mike

My husband just brought 2 copies of his birth certificate, 2 copies of our marriage licenses, drivers liceneses, passport, and a letter from his high school saying he graduated. He need this because he is attend college in the fall. Besides that he brought 2 suitcases of clothes, his lab top and bass guitar. He left everything else at his moms house we will pick up the rest next summer. I packed a suitcase of all his pictures, paperwork, and other items. We can get anything else he needs here. All the best with your move.

Sounds good to me. Although a bit of a pain, a move is GREAT for clearing out, so it looks like there is even more for the trashcan now :)

Thanks
