question

my wife was supposed to have interview for AOS, mar. 30,2020....we have not been rescheduled yet, we have called they said to just wait.....her EAD, expires jan 11 , 2021. with everything going on should we try to renew EAD. before prices go up or wait for green card?..i know alot of problems with USCIS..just asking for opinions plz...Daryl

It is your choice if you want to dish out the money for an EAD or give it a few months to see if she gets an interview since she will probably be at the top of the list if it was originally scheduled in March. Prices don’t change until October so personally I’d wait until a week before then to submit it.

US Entry : 12/15/14 Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Apply for Social Security Card: 12/30/14 Connecticut

Marriage: 1/26/15

CIS Office : Hartford                                  Filed : 3/18/15

NOA : 3/25/15                                            Biometrics : 4/15/15

Approved: 8/31/15                                     Received: 9/8/15

 

EAD

CIS Office : Hartford                                  Filed : 3/18/15

NOA : 3/25/15                                            Approved: 6/12/15

Received: 6/20/15

 

Removal of Conditions I-751

Filed: 8/14/17 at VSC                                 NOA: 8/15/17 Received 8/21 by mail

Biometrics: Dated: 8/25/17   Received 9/2/17   Appointment 9/11/17 

Approved: 10/23/18 -no interview

Just send the renewal forms. They're free (and they will still be free after October because you filed for AOS before that).

EAD/AP are free. They should send the renewal forms now. There's no downside on doing that.

Thank you- I misunderstand and thought the renewal cost money.

They can, just not for people who have a pending AOS.

Same form - I-765. Check the 'Renewal of my permission to accept employment' box. AP is a new application, but same form (I-131).
