DCF Philippines

A friend I'm helping to immigrate his filipina wife is in the DCF process at this time.

I have yet to see anyone that has done a DCF in Manila and wondered if anyone has any idea what the time frame is for Manila.

He filed the I-130 a couple months ago and has established Domicle in the US.

He, wife and 2 kids[uSCs] have lived in Mindanao for 12 years and things are getting "to hot" there [Cotobato] for him and his family anymore.

He's had 2 attempted kidnappings to date and things don't appear to be improving at least in that area of Mindanao.

I'm sorry to hear that - sounds like an awful situation. At least he was able to file directly - that should definitely save time.

I can't say I've seen timelines either. Has he received proof that the petition has been received?

Hello. An IR1 is a type of visa - not something you file. The USC files a petition. When the I-130 petition is approved, the foreign spouse is allowed to apply for a visa, and if the couple has been married for more than two years then a IR1 visa is granted. I hope that doesn't sound pedantic - it just helps people trying to learn about the process if everyone uses specific terminology.

I am just repeating what the consulate officer told my friend. He told me that the officer told him to file for an IR1.

Can you help me.with the process..I filed the petition in the phil. It was already approved they sent me a packet with ds-2001 and ds-230 told me to send it to the immigrant visa unit. They replied telling me to make and interview. So I made an appt for my husband and children. What else do I need to complete.? I haven't paid any of my fees yet . I dont have an invoice I.d. number.

hi there may i ask how long it took you til you got the approval?? you did DCF Manila as well right? When did you file po and when did you recieve the approval?
