Extension letter..does it expire 18 months from green card expiration or 18 months from where you filled the removal of conditions?

Hello, I have a question about my extension letter.. I know it expires 18 months but is it 18 months from green card expiration or 18 months from the date I filed to remove the conditions? Please help

It says right in the letter it's 18 months after card expiry.

It's an "Extension." It extends the expiration date of your GC by 18 months. Basically, 18 months from the expiration date written on your GC

It extends the existing green card's validity. The date filed and date received have no impact on it.

I myself am in the same predictament with our Application for the permanent green card.   We have the extension expiring in March 2021 which is coming around the corner.    Will they extend it again or will we eventually get our interview??   Does it always come down to the wire as when they will answer ?     I even checked processing times for my area and it said 20.5 months??? Well how does that work with an 18 month extension???

If you get to the 18 months and you need proof of residency for work or to travel you will have to contact USCIS customer service and make an INFOPASS appointment at your closest field office to get a I-551 stamp in your passport, 
 

In terms of work, you do not have to show your employer your green card as long as you show your unrestricted Social Security card and photo ID such as a drivers license or State ID. 
 

On the other hand, if you want to travel you will need the I-551 stamp.
