N-400 Online Form Pop-up Message for a Spouse’s Prior Spouse

Hello, I am now applying for N-400 Online. But I had an issue with entering the birth date of my spouse’s prior spouse, though the date is correct it shows the message “This date cannot be after your spouse married his or her spouse” please see attachment. Maybe someone had the same issue? Would this be a problem? Because even it shows red warning, I was still able to proceed. Please advise?

I got this too. I tried several times to reenter it, but it never worked. However you can just ignore and move on to the next step. It wasn’t an issue in getting approved.

 

It’s clearly a bug. The date showed correctly on the actual form. Oh and for me, it was related to my own ex spouse - I didn’t have a problem with my husbands ex spouse.

Hello, I have another question. For the income tax return do we need to scan all pages like if there are 20pages for 2019, I have to scan those?

There are so many bugs and errors in the system it's not even funny.

I did not upload my tax returns, but did bring them with me (printed the transcripts I got online). She did not even want to see them

Personally, I’d get the transcripts from the IRS. Ours were still 5 or 6 pages long per tax return, but that’s better than 20. And I did scan all of those pages.

Hello, does it cost anything to get a transcript and how long I can get it? Because I want to submit ASAP and I’m worried about not coming on time. Maybe I can just submit a couple pages of my Tax Return and all the W-2, you think it would be ok? Then I can just bring it on the interview.

You can get the transcript for free from the IRS website: https://www.irs.gov/individuals/get-transcript

And access is basically immediate if you have a cell phone and an account in your name. However if you don’t, or you use something like a mnvo (I use Ting) they can’t validate your identity using a phone number so they have to send you a physical  pin, and that took about 10 days when I did it. And the pin expires in a relatively short period.

I ordered the Tax Return Transcript via telephone because they couldn’t identify my identity online. How will I get it if I ordered by telephone and how am I going to receive it since they didn’t ask for my address? Sorry if I have too many questions. I’m worried because I’m doing it by myself. Thank you in advance.

They will mail it to the address that have on file for you. The irs knows where you live.

What you should answer is dependent on if your current spouse has used any other names. Ask your spouse I would think.
