K1 visa at French Embassy

Hi all,

Just found the site, wish we did sooner!  I am a US citizen and my fiance lives in Portugal. We submitted the I-129f in August of 2019 and got the email that the NVC has forwarded our approved stuff to the French Embassy on March 31st.

Then the Covid happened and some of the anti immigrant executive orders.

Just checked: in early June status was changed to waiting for an interview.

Couple of questions:

1. Does anyone know if the French Embassy is doing K1 visa interviews?

2. We wait for something from the embassy before proceeding? I am not sure when she should fill out the DS160.

Thanks!!

You need to wait for the US French Embassy to send you a letter to book your appointment. At the moment I'm on the same boat as you. We are waiting for me to get the letter.
From what I understand, they are not moving forward with the K1-visa at the moment. We can't make any appointments. I'm waiting since March for that embassy letter.

If you have any other questions, feel free to DM

1. Did you search for your answer on the embassy website? https://fr.usembassy.gov/visas/

2. Have you tried asking others who are in your region for their expertise or experience? Go to the blue ribbon above, select "forums" then scroll about 3/4 of the page down and select the region that most represents where your country is located.

3. After you have your case number you can complete the DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application
