Christopher Walken makes me nervous. For some reason he comes across to me like some sort of pyschopath.

I love Christopher Walken. He is so great in everything he does, especially this:

Gotta love a fifty year old who can dance!

Christopher Walken just has to show up in a scene and you say: "It's Christopher f'kin Walken". He doesn't even need to act. :D

The fourth film, co-starring John Hurt, is due for release on 22 May 2008.

Other names lined up for the action blockbuster include Cate Blanchett, Ray Winstone, Jim Broadbent and Shia LaBeouf, who is rumoured to be playing Indiana's son.

Woot, John Hurt! Woot, Cate! Woot, Ray Winstone!

I admit, I thought the same about old Ray. I think he is GREAT.

Yeah, D. had no clue who he was, other than "some guy who was in that stupid King Arthur movie". So I made him watch Henry VIII. I loved him in that. :D

I admit (and am showing my age here) I have adored him since the Robin Of Sherwood series waaaaay back in 1985. He played Will Scarlett. *sigh* He was a teenage crush of mine!

Oh funny you should mention that series! We recently finished watching the BBC Robin Hood (I think from 2006) and found the Sherwood episodes online also. http://www.tv-links.co.uk/show.do/1/2163

I only watched a few minutes into the first episode, don't know whether the other links work.

Robin Of Sherwood was far superior. More historically correct for the time period. Definitely watch it if you can get a hold of it!

I watched Robin of Sherwood recently via Netflix. Odd bit of cheesiness aside it really is very good, far far better than the new BBC series. Its worth watching just for the interplay between the Sheriff and Guy of Gisburne. For some reason the wife loves that $hitty Kevin Costner movie, but won't give that series the time of day. That movie BTW was a turgid rip-off of the Richard Carpenter series, even down to Alan Rickman copying Nickolas Grace' performance from the TV show.

Seeing the original Robin getting killed by the Sheriff's men at the end of Season 2 still kind of shocked me. Came totally out of the blue first time I saw it - completely unexpected and oddly traumatic. Like when Spock died in Star Trek 2 ;).

I quite liked the Nasir character - he was pretty cool with the two swords and all those throwing knives!

It was loosely accurate - in the sense that they established the resentment between the Saxon Britons and the Norman conquerors. I think its the only version of the Robin Hood story that combines Celtic and Saxon mythology to it - associating Robin with Herne the Hunter.

As I recall the series wasn't that great after Michael Praed fcuked off to join Dynasty, and they cast Jason Connery (who inherited perhaps 1/10 of his father's talent) as the new Robin. But those first two seasons are magic.
