So I wrote the check for my wife's filing fee and I did not follow the directions.  I did not mention my wife (petitioner/green card holder) in the memo of the check. It has only my name on the check.  Is this a big issue ? Will USCIS still cash it?

They won't care. All that matters is that the correct amount is listed and that it's addressed to "U.S. Department of Homeland Security" and the check is signed so it can be deposited. There are many people who pay for a family member's immigration fees and whatnot to help out the immigrant. No big deal. My check only had my name (I'm the immigrant and my check had my maiden name too 'cause I haven't updated them). USCIS cashed it yesterday and it cleared today.

 

I only wrote in the memo: "I-751 Filing ($595) + Biometrics ($85)"
