I can tell you are new around here so I will go easy on you. But I have lived in Iraq and Afghanistan. There was a 10 year span from 2005-2015 where I seriously spent more time out of the country in the MENA region than I spent in the USA.

Then to his point, DC this week was trending more towards Kabul or Baghdad in appearance than the national capital we should all cherish.

It is interesting how the Dems/Left/MSM are thinking they had no blood on their hands in this whole episode, but whatever, Trump is now or will be soon a politically toxic former President with a lot of people willing to follow him.  We could see a play at a third party which would not be bad if it could actually be viable, but who knows what will happen politically in the next two and four years.  Personally I think the GOP has a lot more to lose considering the way the Dems and their media allies will play this, but that mob on Wednesday was not just made up of Republicans as Trump resonated with a lot of folks on both sides not to mention minority groups.  Time will tell.

Every single time they felt they smelled blood these groups of people tried to pile on like deranged opportunists with one obsessive goal. Little did they understand how much it makes a rational person simply laugh at them and dismiss it, especially as these groups try and publicly call to "punish" Trump supporters. Big middle finger to them as we've seen what this has been about all along. Unfortunately it's also demonstrated how weak so many others are that they allow the fraudulently acquired cognitive dissonance to lead them around.

I'm glad Pence seems to be dismissing 25th amendment efforts. If Trump runs again in 2024 he's likely my top choice but we'll see who else is running as well. Neither Trump nor anyone else is going to change how I vote.

Actually I attribute more to the Philippines when Marcos was forced from power.

I have seen that first hand in Iraq and it is not funny. That is why it is called "mob mentality"

No, that is one reason why Amazon is so big now because they don't have to use a publisher to get a book out anymore

When you say "mixed into the group" are you trying to build the narrative that he was part of the mob?

the guy i felt the most bad for is Mike Pence.

he was put in an impossible situation, he had his family there for the ceremony, and there are reports of the mob specifically looking for him....

fortunately he was evacuated quickly, but i can understand why he would be extremely angry now at trump

There is a lot of blame to go around and as much as you want to pin this completely on Trump just shows how much you ignore the other actors, but whatever.  Trump is politically toxic, and there are a lot of folks in DC that should also be put into that category, but believe what you want.

Given the situation, he was put in a bad spot.  In the context of him enabling Trump over the years along with the rest of Republican leadership, I don't have any sympathy.

I pin this on everyone who enables Trump to behave this way.  We continue to see him portrayed in admirable even heroic light when he is in fact a self indulgent child who continues to get excused and even endorsed for his behaviors.

McCain, Romney, Flake had tried to guide the party and mitigate the disaster, but Republicans couldn't get enough. This week is on the Republicans. They broke it, thank God the Georgia voters saw fit to throw the Republicans out, in the longrun they did the party a favor.
