Portland police declare riot as city’s unrest carries into new year

 

Fireworks set off in downtown Portland, Ore., on Thursday night had little to do with New Year’s Eve celebrations – and more to do with continuing the unrest that has plagued the city for nearly a year, according to reports.

Once again, city police declared a riot as a gathering estimated to be about 100 people targeted a federal courthouse, FOX 12 of Oregon reported.

"Participants have thrown multiple firebombs at officers and launched commercial grade fireworks at the Federal Courthouse and Justice Center," the Portland Police Bureau wrote on Twitter just as the new year arrived early Friday.

At least the Portland police were probably prohibited from intervening, leaving them free to pursue garden-variety drunks and illegal fireworks-setter-offers.  (See?  There's a bright spot in every challenge.)

Ted has decided to start enforcing laws now that the election happened and he feels he can't blame Trump. 

 

This is certainly a learning experience though.. the anarcho-communists have demonstrated their value to Democrat politicians in the facade world of perception. The biggest losers are those gullible people on the left who actually thought they were getting some sort of valuable change along the line of policing.. they're going to be every bit as brutal as before, which goes into the real purpose of this political extortion game. It's all about righting the establishment ship and nothing more. It's allowed to draw in as much water as necessary to wash out unwanted captains when the crew that decides it doesn't make the correct choice. Of course, the highly toxic and destabilizing nature of this approach is clear. It'll be interesting if/when the populace figures it out.

Things are crazy right now at the Capitol -- protestors on the steps, Capitol building swarmed, people told to get away from exterior windows and doors, if outside seek cover.

 

Protestors and cops attacking each other. This is very, very bad.

More stupid posturing from some in the republican's party. Instead of blaming election fraud the need to reexamine what they are doing wrong.

 

Although I supported Trump what has really turned me off.

 

Trumps absolutely  erratic behavior in the last 2 months

 

the non stop 24 7 negative camping by Perdue and Loffler with not 1 mention of what they have done or will do

 

Perdue and Loffler claiming the supported increased payment knowing Mitch M would block it, but voted to send billions overseas.

 

Warnock running a very positive non attacking campaign, for the most part

Just got an email asking the few of us working from our DC office, right by the Capitol, to stay in until further notice.

There are actual arguments being made that deserve recognition. Or can ignore them and be perplexed as to why people are fed up.

Pence and Grassley evacuated, people told to shelter in place, congresspeople told to hide under their desks, and everyone stay away from windows and doors. People marching through Statuary Hall. What is happening???

 

Someone is going to get killed at this rate.

They are going to have to make a big decision here to clear these 'people' out, and possibly by any means necessary.

I'm working from home, usually only go to DC a few times per year / very few of us have been going to our office(s) since the spring.

 

D.C. office has beds, foods, shower, in case they're stuck in... They'll be fine.
