Family of Philadelphia man fatally shot by police doesn't want officers charged with murder
 

 

The family of Walter Wallace Jr., who was fatally shot by Philadelphia police, does not want the officers charged with murder, a lawyer for the family said Thursday.

Attorney Shaka Johnson said the Wallace family doesn’t want the two responding officers to face such charges because they were improperly trained and didn’t have the right equipment to deal with the situation, in which Wallace, who had mental health issues, moved toward them Monday afternoon with a knife before being shot.

Video from police body-cameras released Thursday show Wallace emerging from a house with a knife as relatives shout at officers about his mental health condition, Johnson, who saw the video before its public release, told the Associated Press.

I've donated to Andy and I definitely recommend people do that as well to support his journalism, as no one would really know what's happening in Portland and the region if it wasn't for people like him taking the time to report on it, in the field himself recording it, and aggregating information from others (and being beaten half to death for it).

 

 

 

 

Hopefully a second Trump term, new FBI and DOJ leaders, results in these people being arrested, put them all in a cell block with convicted murderers and let things sort themselves out.

For people that tried so hard to get arrested they don't seem too happy to be arrested, or happy in general. The future for my kids in the workforce looks brighter if this is what they're up against.

Well, pretty much nothing happened in the LA area last night. There were some arrests downtown, but reportedly no property damage. I think one person assaulted a cop, not sure what that was about. Reporters and legal observers and even some people just waiting for a Metro train got swept up in the arrests, but all of that prep was for basically nothing. Which is good! I didn't hear about anything happening here in SM. The only upshot of this all is that my awful ex Voldy decamped to SM as well saying he didn't feel safe in downtown LA against all the Antifa thugs who would be crawling all over themselves to beat up one of Mr. Trump's supporters. 🙄 I don't have to see him, of course, but knowing he is within blocks isn't my idea of fun.

 

Also, and off topic, but does anyone know anything about Google Nest thermostats? Mine is stuck on and won't turn off -- it's freezing in here.
