I'm guessing she never heard about a little-known incident known as the Civil War.  I seem to recall it lasted more than a couple of months, and more than just a few whites died for blacks.

I want to know you guys' opinions and thoughts on this.  You know I am not voting for either Trump or Biden.  And I know that Joe Biden will not stop the riots.  Joe Biden won't do much of anything.  But what I don't understand is - Trump is basically "re-elect me and I will stop the  riots".  Ok but he is already the president and he is not stopping the riots now.  So how is he stopping them when he gets re-elected?  Not an argumentative question at all.  I just wonder about the answer to this.

perhaps you remember him being called a tyrant earlier in his presidency.  if he did stop the riots (which would take drastic steps to do), that would be a campaign video by the democrats saying "we told you so"

I don't remember Trump stating he would forcefully stop the riots.  I do remember him offering to assist local authorities and governors with Federal Officers, and the National Guard.  Being that most of the places where these events are happening are ultra-leftist run cities, instead of cooperating with the Feds or using the National Guard, we get the anti-Trump rhetoric from those elected leaders.  There have been a few cracks, I believe in Oregon the Oregon State Police are being deputized as US Marshals which means if they are assaulted it becomes a federal offense bypassing some of these whacko leftist prosecutors (see above).  The Democrats and the far Left are walking a tight rope right now, they know these riots look very bad for them, but if they accept help from Trump they will also look bad.  Trump is actually following the governing rules set forth in the Constitution and the Laws passed even though we are now getting the narrative that the riots are all Trump's fault.  He did the same thing for Covid19, but of course that is all his fault as well.  I am getting tired of hearing a local political ad telling me I need to vote Democrat to restore the MI economy because Trump destroyed it, we all know what (Covid19) and who destroyed it and that person was sitting in Lansing, MI (Whitmer).  Regardless, I am sure that type of ad will be fine for FB, IG and Twitter.  Trump for all his bombast loves this country, but he knows he is not a king or dictator and he does follow the Constitution.  He may issue some EOs that are questionable, heck Obama did as well, and I am sure we can find some from Bush and Clinton too, but this is why we have the courts as the third branch.

Suspect in Portland fatal shooting has been killed: reports

 

An Antifa sympathizer who was said to be a suspect in the fatal shooting of a Patriot Prayer supporter in Portland, Ore., last month was reportedly killed Thursday night as authorities moved in to arrest him.

Michael Forest Reinoehl, 48, died in Lacey, Wash., outside Seattle, during an operation by a federal fugitive task force, The New York Times reported.

Reinoehl's death was also confirmed by a senior Justice Department official, according to The Associated Press. The suspect was shot by law enforcement after drawing a gun on officers, the AP report said.

The president isn't king of every city and state with absolute authority over them. He has limitations on what he can do. He also has basically been begging the governors and mayors to let him send in federal help to stop this. There's a hint.
