It sounds like you guys are at the final hurdle, so I would advise hanging in there as you probably won't have a super long time to wait. My fiancé and I are in a similar position and I know how mentally draining the whole thing is. Hold in a little longer and I think in the long run you'll be happier you waited.

Thank you so much. I think that what I needed the most was support from people in the same position. My BF is super patient but I'm not and feel it so unfair. My anxiety took over bad, my emotions have been wreck.

This is very much a situation that we're all in. I'm sorry for the pain you are feeling, but know that it's felt across the world with everyone going through K-1s right now.

In the end, the thing to remember that this is one of the hardest things you will ever have to go through in your life with your partner. A global pandemic affecting immigration through one of the toughest visa processes to a country with a government who want to cut immigration. If you and your partner can get through this, and come out on top, you guys can conquer anything that comes your way.

Myself and my fiancee wish the both of you the best of luck, stay strong!

No doubt about the stress on relationship, but for us I would feel so much better if the Embassy would just give some information on what will happen once K1's are being processed.  I lost all confidence in the Manila Embassy because of what they did to us during the interview in February. Now my greatest fear is that they will time us out or do some equally stupid stuff like they did before.  I will not bother you with a recap of what they did but, I did write about it  before, it is clear that they made major mistakes during the interview process and subsequent  mistakes in the handling of the Visa.  They have you by your throat and could care less if you can't breathe.

From what I'm seeing from the London Embassy/hearing from the NVC, all petitions that have been timed out due the pandemic are valid as long as you take a letter of intent to marry to the interview.
Not sure if this answers your question

Sorry to hear that, it sounded awful.

Our embassy has been open a month, but it doesn't matter if USCIS doesn't process the application and send it to them.

Unfortunately they are only selecting expedited cases for interview. This is frustrating 😢

I totally understand the frustration, but I have been waiting now for over 2 years because of medical reasons and once all issues were solved in March 2020 and ready for the interview, the US Embassy closed.    My K 1 application was approved on Feb 2018.  Thankfully I have been to visit my other half 8 times  in Indonesia and we have gone to Bali 3 times, visited Yogyakarta, Surabaya, Malaysia and Thailand so we have made the best of it in the waiting.  Patience is the word here.  Best to you.

You should still consider yourself lucky, I haven´t seen my Fiancee for 6 months, and we are still counting, I live in Spain! so there is no sign that we will be allowed to travel anytime soon for us in the Schengen area...

I am not even approved yet... I am waiting for my approval and it is frustrating seeing in other groups, people getting approved when they had the same NOA1 date as me or around the same time.

And if I am getting approved soon I will not know when I will be able to get an Interview...

So as hard as it is try to be patient you are only one step away to have the Visa and then you can travel and see your Fiancee as soon as you can.

Wish you luck that you will get your Interview soon!

This frustration is really tough to deal with. I got my police clearance (UK and India) and medical all sorted on March 13th and on March 14th the US Consulate in India send me an email that embassies are shutting down and my K1 interview which was on 27th March is cancelled. There is only one Consulate in India that processes the K1 and that happens to be in Mumbai - the worst hit city in this country. I can't see it opening it up any soon. I send 2 emails to them. One email asking if the file could be transferred to my hometown (which has a US Consulate and is not very badly effected yet) for an interview and they said that they could consider it after the original (Mumbai) Consulate opens and asked me to email them again. The other email was asking for an extension of the Police Clearance and the Medical Exam Report. No extension (wasn't really expecting one tbh). The Police Clearance is valid for 1 year from the date of issuance. The medical report is valid for 6 months. So the entire time, effort and money spent on the medical test and the travel expense to get to the US Consulate approved clinic is going down the drain soon. And probably the police clearance will follow suit. We don't really have a choice but to just hang in there. Once the interviews open up - so many of us might have to jump through these hoops once again. Even the K1 visa fees that was paid is valid for 1 year and I won't be surprised if that does not get extended either.

I can empathise with many of the concerns and frustrations expressed here. The long distance, the time difference, the travel restrictions, risk related to travel when there are no restrictions, the money, effort and time that has gone into this...

Hi guys,

How are you doing while you expect for embassies to open and have your interview? It has affect my relationship so much, I came to the point where I broke up with my american boyfriend and he decided convice me of not doing it but honestly this is the worst. Plus, we haven't been able to visit each other because the financial situation right know is not good to pay for the ticket,  we rather save that money for our future plans.

Is there any other way we can get married and be together faster than through K-1? We thought about getting married in my country but we would have to start a process all over again and wait at least 1 year to finally be together.

This is driving us crazy.

Hey there Hanna!
We definitely feel you. Let’s just pray for everything. But I know that I am not the right person to tell this but when it comes on your relationship I hope that your praying for that too because what is the sense of you waiting for what is God’s plan on your life if you can lengthen more on your patience. Keep strong 💪 God is in control. Keep your patience and for each other while waiting.

We all in the same situation,im waiting for intrview since early april my case ready at embassy, today is 1 year 1 month 15 days from the last time i can see my fiance. At this point all we can do just to be strong,Im sorry to be honest you're from DR which is super duper near with ur fiance,Im from Indonesia 12 hours time difference,10.000+ miles between us not to mention as an active duty not easy for him to get approval to leave overseas plus with covid 0,5% he'll get approved if ask to leave US soil now. If ur relationship strong enough then it's easy to survive this, ask back to your heart are u strong and ready? Marriage isn't a game, there's a lots "war" u will face in the future with marriage life, for now just make ur self strong for this waiting game. Cheers 💑
