Not getting email updates from uscis

I notice in most of the post I read that people get email updates from their uscis accounts when they get rfe's and when the rfe's get recieved. I have an account and have my email status set to yes but I never got an email when I got my rfe. It doesn't say on the portfolio list that one was sent either. All it tells me is that the case is received and pending. Am I missing something everyone else is doing that I'm not?

You won't receive an e-mail notifying you that you are getting an RFE. They come somewhat as a surprise in your mail-box. You -will- receive an e-mail when your RFE response is received at the service center, however.

Our K-1 Visa/AOS/RoC timeline can be found here.

I never received any e-mail messages from the initial receipt of the petition until the approval. That includes biometrics appointments and interview appointments, nothing... I guess that it is 'normal' in a USCIS sort of way.

No longer in the hands of the USCIS, for my wife at least, next up MIL.

Dunno why this has gone into the K-1 progress reports forum when you've filed for AOS, but ho-hum! Anyway... I asked this same question in the May filers thread a few days ago and a few people (including Arazia) confirmed that the first warning they had of an RFE was when it arrived in the mail. I'm (pessimistically) expecting one any day now! :)

2005 - We met

2006 - Filed I-129F

2007 - K-1 issued, moved to US, completed AOS (a busy year, immigration-wise)

2009 - Conditions lifted

2010 - Will be naturalising. Buh-bye, USCIS! smile.png

OP - please update your profile/siggie to reflect AOS.

Feather- I got an update saying I had an RFE back in December.

Glad they sometimes send 'em! I know I've seen people saying their online status has changed to 'on blahblah date we sent you a request for further evidence' or whatever - and then fretting about what it's going to say while they wait for the hard copy to arrive. So I guess it could go either way! :)

We received email notification about our impending RFE for our AOS and when USCIS received the requested information for the RFE. We received email notification upon transfer to CSC. However, we never received email notification that my husband's AOS was approved and green card on the way. We checked our online status and found that out.

the e-mail notices are hit and miss. We never received one for the NOA2 for the K-1. It just came in the mail. For the EAD and AP we did recieve email notification about the RFE. Don't trust the online system to be totally accurate. There are glitches for what ever reason.
