DNA test from countries without accredited facilities

Hi,

We have received a RFE from USCIS (I-130 for F3) for secondary evidence as birth certificate is issued 30+ years after birth. The secondary evidence they are asking are hard,  or even impossible. They also mentioned voluntary DNA test.

However, the AABB accredited  (43 of them) sites from PCR DNA test are not anywhere close to where out beneficiary lives (Bangladesh). Closest ones are Philippines, Hong Kong and China.

So, how can we still do DNA test? Does the beneficiary need to travel to those sites in person? Any other option for DNA test?

Thanks.

Have you contacted an AABB lab in the US to ask them about Bangladesh? There are many local labs who the US labs partner with, who are not on the list you are looking at, certainly this was our experience. Your first point of contact should be with one of the US labs.

Thanks. I contacted two of the companies, both said they will take DNA from Bangladesh through Dhaka embassy (which is closed for five months now, so huge backlog).

I will try regional forums to see if anybody knows of any company doing it through clinics.

The process is as following:

1. You contact one of the DNA labs  listed on the RFE.

2. They will take your DNA

3. They will contact Dhaka embassy when it opens to arrange DNA test of your family member

4. You family member takes the DNA test

You can get your DNA test done now, but your relative in Dhaka will have to wait till after the Dhaka embassy is opened.
