Does anyone know how to postpone an interview at Embassy stage?

ive registered my appt,

booked a medical (which I can cancel for now)

and I’ve paid for courier

except things are not good between my husband and I

im not willing to pay out more good money on a whim.

if I cancel the Embassy interview, how long do I have to take it ?

If things are not good fix it... Just know if you stop it or cancel it can't be undone... You can get your visa and still have 6months to clear your head... If you decide its over then don't get on the flight

Oh believe me I’m trying. I don’t even know what’s broken. 🥺🥺  it’s a complete 180 by him not me. And this is no flash in the pan relationship. We’ve got 3 kids. This is our 2nd time around.

Maybe is just drama... But what you intend doing has repercussions... So I would say for the sake of your kids go get that visa... You have 6 months after you get the visa to think about it all... Even if you don't get on that flight after 6 months you can ask for the visa to be reissued. Good luck

Ok for anyone in the same situation, the Embassy advises I just don’t turn up the scheduled appt and then it can be rescheduled in the link you register on

That is correct. You have to wait for the original date to pass, then pick a new date. You can delay a year. Don’t have a medical yet if you are going to delay interview.

If things are not good, do as you plan. Work on it and then get the visa. No point spending money on something that may be a waste of time. Are there 4 visas you need or just yours?

Now as a mother I would not take my kids to the US when my marriage maybe falling apart.

I can only see all sorts of trouble. He boots you out keeps the kids (if they are USC the courts may never let them move back to the UK). Not  horrible if you want to stay in the US but horrible if you are trapped living in a place you hate. (just my train of thought not saying this would happen)

If he wants this to work then he needs to step up too not just you working on it. It takes two. If you saying this is your 2nd time around is with him, do as you planned and think long and hard.

Oh I know but it seems it is just me working on it. I can’t fix it on my own. I’ve looked for one good reason to continue and he’s giving me every reason to not.

the two eldest are over 21 so not concerned about them. I’m concerned about our 12yr old. They are all dual citizens and I am well aware of what could happen if 6-12 mths in he decides it’s a big no.

I think you know your answer then. Big hugs.
