I485 status still stuck in "Case is Ready to Be Scheduled for An Interview" since 8 months

I got the notification back in January 2020 that my case was ready to be scheduled for an interview. I understand that this means everything was okay on our end, we just needed to wait for an interview call.

Since then, we have moved to a different state. We filed for both sponsor change of address forms, and applicant change of address online. Received the notification that I865 was received.

Is it common for people to be stuck in this stage for their I485? Will my moving affect this in some way?

USCIS field offices have been closed for general interviews since around March and only very recently started resuming limited interviews. So basically 4 or so months of that wait had no real progress with interviews.

The move means they (likely - depending on specific zip codes involved) have to transfer the case to the new field office. It is not clear if your case goes to the back of the pile or retains a relative spot in the queue at the new field office.

Even then, 8 months in that status pre-COVID was the norm for some field offices. My wife's case was in that status for close to a year with the Philadelphia office until she got an interview notice.

You can check current timelines for the new field office here: https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/

Assuming your profile is accurate and it is the DC office, the average (50% adjudication) wait is about 11 months, with 93% of cases being adjudicated in 35.5 months.

It is in part a result of the covid effect

YMMV
