Hi,

I got recently approved by uscis, the case status is just ‘case approved’, do they update to ‘sent to dep of state’ once is really sent to nvc
How long usually is the wait of receive the welcome letter ?

does any of you used the shortcut to call nvc to receive earlier code for caec?

Thanks

Ah also, i see people here update nvc received after 2 days and already pay nvc, i guess they call nvc instead wait letter?

You can call nvc and ask for your case and invoice number. All you need is your uscis receipt number. That's what I did. If I would had waited for a welcome letter from NVC I would still be waiting. I never received one.

Did you file online or via mail? From what I've read in different visa groups, if online you'll receive your welcome letter (via email), within a week. In our case, since we filed via mail, we waited 21 days before our case status was changed from approved to sent to department state, and then after 14 days we received email from NVC (welcome letter) containing our case number and invoice number. We didn't call NVC  since we thought that it will be counterproductive on their part given the current situation. We just waited patiently.

 OUR CASE:
•case approval: 0ctober 29,2019

•welcome letter: November 4,2019

•case and invoice number assigned by NVC:   December 12,2019

Hope everything works well for you! Good luck!

For me it took 78 days between USCIS approved the case and I heard back from NVC with a welcome email. So timelines will vary.
