We lost the approval notice. Is there a way to submit an adjustment of status application without the original approval notice?

We were thinking about submitting the following documents as evidence and substitutes for the original approval notice:

- Copy of Visa

- Copy of Approval Notice Email

- Copy of Germany US Embassy Notice that Fiance Visa Process can be started

Do you think they will accept these documents as substitutes?

Do we need the original approval notice for the interview?

How long does it receive a duplicate of an approval notice once we applied for one?

If you have a copy of the approval notice, you can make a copy of it and send with AOS. You never mail original documents to them except in the case of passport photos, and you always want to keep a copy of every piece of paper you send or receive.

They said they lost it?

OP - you should have said lost NOA2 approval notice...

devilette,

cellarlily's response was quite appropriate, actually. Unlikely perhaps (people who lose things tend to be the same people who fail to make photocopies when the had the chance), but appropriate. Try reading mabhob's question and cellarlily's response again a few times, you may find yourself saying 'duh'.

Why should mabhobs have said "NOA2 approval notice" Saying 'approval notice' alone was appropraite and sometimes more correct.

Same thing happened to us except we sent in the form, paid the fee and waited for the NOA2 instead of sumitting copies of the online status and such. I would say submit copies of what you have with your AOS application (ie: copy of Visa, copy of Approval Notice Email, etc) and if they don't think it's enough, I'm sure they'll send out an RFE. Also, send out form I-824 with the fee as soon as possible in order to get a hardcopy of your K1 NOA2 (approval notice).

Link to form I think the fee for this form will be rising with the rest at the end of July...

Yes, we lost the NOA2 Approval Notice Document. We also do not have a copy of this document.

EXACTLY what I was getting at, Yodrak. If they lost it, it's highly unlikely they made a copy. Why so picky today?

Not really. The OP has no reference to any K filing or any type of filing in their onscreen profile (NOT timeline). No, I do not always click on timeline to see what they are filing for, not my responsibility.

I did write that it was unlikely (and mabhobs confirmed my reasoning!). But it was a real possibility until mabhobs came back and gave us the complete information.

Didn't want Kez to think that I'm picking on her alone.

I don't always check those things either, but how does that apply here? 'NOA2' = 'approval notice' in VJ-speak - being redundent doesn't give us any more information than using either of the terms alone.
