Thanks a lot! Everything went smoothly and I got approved :D

They only asked for the original birth certificates (mine and my husband’s), marriage certificate and police records. We updated some documents and upload them in the CEAC before the interview, maybe that’s why they didn’t ask for taxes or anything else. The questions were pretty basic: how do we meet, where and when did we get married, is my husband a resident or citizen, where was he born, where does he work, how often do we see each other, have I been to USA, if I have a current visa, and that was it.

About the measures @StarSeed1: you need to wear make all the time, they have gel and they practice social distancing. Also they are only performing a few interviews every day. I didn’t see a lot of people at the consulate, it basically looks empty. I count only 4 windows checking the documents and I would say less than 10 windows performing the interviews. I had the number 25 for immigrant visas (my appointment was at 8.30). i would say there was only 20 people waiting in the huge room at the time. It took me like 2 hours (mostly waiting).

I am back home and I will wait for my package here, I hope it arrives next week so I can get to US before January 26th.

Congratulations!! Thank you for your response. Hopefully more interviews start rolling out.

Theres is an update on the Consulate website.

Quote

In March 2021, the National Visa Center (NVC) will resume scheduling some routine (non-emergency) IR/CR-1 and IR/CR-2 cases, as local public health conditions permit.  These appointments will go to cases that are documentarily complete, with fees fully paid, but which remain at the National Visa Center

It would appear that taking the K route instead of the CR/IR route was a losing proposition.  In the same boat 😕

It would seem that they are targeting late spring or summer for things to start moving again but purely conjecture and wishful thinking on my part.  By then they'll likely have COVID vaccines rolled out to embassy workers and hopefully the pandemic is starting to break.  I'm in the process of moving to Mexico City for a while because I'm sick of waiting (and I've always wanted to).  Just waiting to get my shot first

Mexico vaccine rollout will be even slower.

But I don't expect things will get back to normal until they at least reach herd immunity levels.

Take care in Mexico City, it's a hotbed there.

Can't wait till I can go back and explore the city.

Yeah, I don't anticipate things will being moving at full capacity until later but who knows, perhaps Biden will be sympathetic to our situations and do something about it.

One positive is that they are going to be selling the vaccine as well in Mexico, which I don't necessarily agree with, but I can't help but feel that will speed up the rollout.

I'm fortunate that I already got my first shot of Pfizer from work and have a few weeks for my second one.  I won't lie that there are people who needed it more, but was given the opportunity and took it.

Damn COVID as living in Mexico City for 6 months to a year would have been pretty damn amazing otherwise, have been there a lot and the culture runs deep.

I may also see some paths move faster than others if certain visas aren't considered priority.

For example. If the below were taken at its word, they may not be scheduling K1 interviews.

In March 2021, the National Visa Center (NVC) will resume scheduling some routine (non-emergency) IR/CR-1 and IR/CR-2 cases, as local public health conditions permit.

yeah I guess, we still don't know how many interviews will be conducted every day, and the number of people with CC each month varies so the only thing we can do is continun monitoring.

Wish the consulate officers could be vaccinated, that'd really help everyone..

It's not just about the workers, they also have to take precautions for the people visiting the consulate.
