I 601 is filed after the Consulate interview.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

This was my second interview. The lady interviewing me asked about how I entered the country, I said through Tijuana. She asked exactly how, so I told her what I remembered. I was 18 when it happened, that was 24 years ago. My boyfriend at the time, a LPR, token to meet meet him in Tijuana and that he had everything ready. I said that much. She asked what documents I presented, I said I gave him my passport and he drove through. She then said I was inadmissible due to miss representation.

What sort of visa did you have?

The important thing is that there is no suggestion you used a US passport as that would be game over.

I had not come across that particular situation of people being interrogated about exactly how they got across the border. Everyone now is telling me I should have used a lawyer from the beginning. I’m probably going to get one for the waiver, although now that I can’t go back home, I’ll probably have time to do everything myself.

Obviously this is a complicated case and I just know snippets. One thing that comes to mind is that being inspected would have permitted adjustment in country, water under the bridge now.

VJ has a waiver section.

When we contact the NVC they relatively have nothing to say. All they tell us is that our case has already been forwarded to the embassy (Jan. 2020) and that we need to contact the embassy to schedule an appointment. When we call the embassy they just say there are no appointments available and that we should send inquiries through their online submission form. When we submit an inquiry all we get back is an email saying that they received case a long time ago but there are no appointments and wait for a notification when an appointment is available. That's it. That's all we have gotten back for almost 2 years now.

I mean, we already had our appointment scheduled and they canceled it. I don't understand why ours can't be rescheduled but others who came way after us are already getting their appointment scheduled. It just makes no sense to me. Ugh

VERY SIMILAR experience here! Mine was expedited June 2017 you heard right! It's a case from 2013 too! I-601a was returned several times for incomplete stuff that already was complete. Eventually first i-601a was declined for not answering a mail request for evidence, but it was "undeliverable"! I bet my mail carrier sent it to the wrong address and it was sent back to USCIS. Their own site said so upon tracking the USCIS receipt, and because 30 days had passed it was automatically cancelled. Refiled i-601a, approved May 2020 in writing. Since then I was able to book a consular appointment, but they hadn't reopened due to COVID. I hear CDJ has been open since June 2021 for appointments and further restoration of service October 15 2021. I call and fill the online form, check online the https://ais.usvisa-info.com/en-mx/iv manual appointment site I was sent to since June 2017 and no appointment is available ANYWHERE, seems that website is dated and not in use, it SHOULD have a clear warning it doesn't work for appointments anymore. The Microsoft Office online form you answer just replies a regurgitation of the website a month later with no help. I'm equally upset that those of us with expedited cases are being thrown under the bus and forgotten! So many here for instance filed all NVC stuff for the first time in 2020 or early 2021 and have had appointments, but not us previously expedited people!

The CEAC site has said my case was in process of termination in October 2021 for not contacting NVC or logging onto CEAC. However, whenever I contacted NVC they said to contact the consulate because my case was already expedited there. Now I checked today and it says READY as of 16-Dec-2021. What can I expect? What does this mean? Haven't gotten any emails or mail or calls with regards to an appointment.

Ok some progress:

U.S. Department of State
IMMIGRANT VISA APPLICATION
Ready
Immigrant Visa Case Number: CDJ2013****** CDJ
Case Created: 29-Nov-2013
Case Last Updated: 16-Dec-2021

Your case is ready for your interview when scheduled at the U.S. Consular section. If you already have an interview appointment scheduled, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the consulate on the appointed date and time. Present your appointment letter at your interview, if you do not, you will be turned away. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment. You may have to keep checking back until one becomes available, but as long as you can get to the calendar.

I check it and check it but all the time it says in red the same message that's always there:

There are no available appointments at the selected location. Please try again later.

Called the Applicant Service Center (AIS IV website in green: +52 656 344 3003 or +1 703 249 4628) and they don't have appointment spots available, they said to use the contact form: https://forms.office.com/g/3M1xhUFpM0 Seen on the https://mx.usembassy.gov/contact website. Will be contacting them there, but in the past they just reply exactly what the embassy website says, "documentarily complete" & "The U.S. Consulate General in Ciudad Juarez has resumed routine immigrant visa operations, scheduling thousands of socially distanced interviews each week in ALL immigrant visa categories.  This includes applicants whose cases are already at the Consulate, and applicants whose cases still remain at the National Visa Center (NVC)", laladaa da... Also my DS-260 online application questionnaire expires 4/30/2022, don't know whats going to happen or if it will affect me negatively if my interview happens after that date.
