super stressful process I hope we both get through this without any major hiccups! I'm just worried about getting the police report because I don't have proof of address but on FB page the casa de huespedes say they help you with that, so I hope it works!

yeah that's weird, I thought it had to be from the state you lived in, and I saw people saying you can use the address from where you're staying.

Let me know how that goes because we still need to get one too and didn't have any luck due to the pandemic.

yeah Definitely!  My husband is going to try and get one from his home state if that doesn't work then we're going to have to rely on the help of wherever we decide to stay. I'm also a little nervous about the medical exam, I was told that even if you only drink socially or at very few occasions to say you don't drink at all or they will send you to do a physc eval and you will get a blue slip but I'm going to ask my Lawyer????

Ask the experience on the facebook groups, I saw someone posted a photo from where you get the police report of what you need to bring.

I think with drinking it depends on who interviews you if they send you or not.

Hi guys! Question, how long did it take for your cases to complete/get documentarily qualified from the time you submitted your documents and paid your fees? Good luck to both of you on your interviews keep us posted!

Mine was something like 2 weeks. They asked for a doc after initial review and instead of waiting all that all over again it was only a day after surprisingly.

The time it takes seems to change all the time though and that was over a year ago. There's been times in the past where people would wait 2 months.

My fiance and I were CC January 2020. We had our interview appointment scheduled for August 2020 but it was then canceled in March 2020 due to the pandemic and we still have not received a reschedule yet. I can't tell you how incredibly frustrating it is to see other people who were well after us get their appointment scheduled but yet we have nothing. We have called, we have sent inquiries, I have contacted my state representatives and still no updates...

That's crazy, I remember reading in one of the consulate updates last year that they were rescheduling those and if you haven't heard from them to contact them.

What did the NVC tell you?

That's government for you, so disorganized.

Appointments are all over the place, some even got some last week and that's not normal for when they normally give out appointments.

When we contact the NVC they relatively have nothing to say. All they tell us is that our case has already been forwarded to the embassy (Jan. 2020) and that we need to contact the embassy to schedule an appointment. When we call the embassy they just say there are no appointments available and that we should send inquiries through their online submission form. When we submit an inquiry all we get back is an email saying that they received case a long time ago but there are no appointments and wait for a notification when an appointment is available. That's it. That's all we have gotten back for almost 2 years now.

I mean, we already had our appointment scheduled and they canceled it. I don't understand why ours can't be rescheduled but others who came way after us are already getting their appointment scheduled. It just makes no sense to me. Ugh
