Please help to calculate Sponsor's Household Size!

l filed form I-130 in Jan to bring wife in the US and case was approved in Jul. In 2018 l also filed an affidavit of support for a friend who won the DV lottery to immigrate in the US. My friend stayed with me five months before finding a place to live and was financially independent. Consequently, I have never claimed this friend as Dependent in my taxes return. In this situation, how would l calculate my household size?

Your friend is included in your household size. The affidavit of support is valid for three years for DV green cards. You signed it in 2018.

I864 specifically mentions to list any one sponsored on i864 or i864ez who are now LPRs. Since you likely filled out i134 for a DV holder, I would say no need to include that person in your household size.

Hi JFH!

You correctly mentioned that l signed form I-134 Aff of support in 2018. However, l've never claimed my friend as a dependent. Also "Instructions  for Affidavit of Support" states that "you must include each and every person whom you have claimed as a dependent on most recent Federal income tax returns..." Based on that could you please give me more details why l should include my friend in my household size.
