Hi guys!

We are preparing our AOS package (currently here on an F1-visa but just recently got married to my hubby who's an American citizen, yay!) and I was wondering when I'm supposed to get a medical exam done? We talked to an immigration lawyer who said I need to get the medical exam done prior to filing the package. I was always under the impression that the medical exam is to be done closer to the interview date? Would love to hear other peoples experiences!

Thanks!

Yep, you can do the medical exam later, in it's even advisable since they are having delays with COVID-19. You do not want to pay twice if the first medical exam expires at the time of the interview.

You'll receive a courtesy letter explaining this option. I did not submit my medical exam with the original package and I received this letter last week (I'm also adjusting from a F-1 visa so congratulations!)

Good luck
