Well if the basis of the expedite application is difficulty visiting as a tourist that would be an interesting precedent.

That is very true.

 

My posts were just reminders about the current land entry restrictions. Canadian tourists can only visit the US via flight or sea travel (but not ferry service).

The last place you should want to be is in the US where COvid is exploding. Canada is much safer atm for your poor lungs. Proving you're high risk wanting to go to an even more high risk country is going to be hard.

I think with in spite of the EO. many consulates will allow K1 interviews if you have anything close to a decent reason.

I very much doubt that consulates with large backups already, such as Montreal, will approve frivolous expedite requests.
