My wife's ROC application was initially rejected due to her dumb husband insisting she didn't need to include a copy of her green card with her packet. He clearly did not follow the guides here on VJ. Whoops.

It ultimately wasn't that bad of a delay. She got her GC around the same time as everyone else who submitted their I-751 (at least those who posted here on VJ).

How long did it take to get the rejection letter in the mail ? I

mean when was it dated til you got it in the mail. Because I found out myself that my file was rejected so just wanna know when do I get the letter to see what I have done wrong.

Quick question, how did you find out about the rejection? Did you have to call to find out or it was updated on your myuscis account?

Within 5 days. That was back before the USPS started having service problems though.

it happened to my case. idiots in the locbox rejected even though my petition was filed correctly. They wasted 40 days before sending it back so i spend another 20$ to send back the application again

I received the rejection letter today in the mail and the reason was that I filed it a little too soon for them I guess!!! I can’t believe that because they received my package the 13th of July and my green card expires 10/09/2020, please tell me if I did file prior to the 90 day period, this is absurd. Waisted a month now for their non sense reason

Incorrect fees, missing signature or Too early, in your case my best guess is you or your spouse missed signed, Seems like you are really excited, so missing a signature is very much predictable

Exactly 90 days prior to October 9th, 2020 is July 11th, 2020. I used the USCIS early filing calculator - it's for naturalization purposes but uses the same 90 day calculation so it should be just as accurate.

Yes but they received my form the 13th of July according to the post office so it does not make sense

Sorry if I'm mistaken but on the first page of thid thread, you said they received your package on the 11th? What date did you put on the actual I-751 form?? If you signed and dated the I-751 earlier than July 11, then maybe that is why it got rejected as "filed too early"? I'm not sure...just throwing out ideas as to why this happened. The other simpler explanation is that USCIS is just like any other workplace and has employees who don't quite know what they're doing.

so I suppose it's OK if I'm a week or two late... just to be safe I suppose.

It is preferable, imo, to wait until a day after the window opens to sign & mail the package.  Too many people mail it before the window even opens.....then worry about it arriving too early.
