How bad for the timeline is moving to other state?

So Im a J1 without 2year rule. We are gonna apply for AOS next week in San Diego but planning/thinking to move to Seattle when my trainee program ends (october 15th), so that we can live for a while in her parents house (rent free) while waiting for my EAD. She is working now but the conditions/salary are pretty bad and she will start a master degree online in january.

We were very convinced in the decision but now we are not sure how moving to other state im the middle of the process would affect to the timing, especially since seems like San Diego is way faster than Seattle in the processing estimates times.

The fact that Seattle is slower, would affect also in getting the EAD later? Or that only affect to the global case?

Would you move in october? Maybe wait Until I get my EAD and then move? Or not move at all during the process?

Thank you!

Field office location has zero impact on EAD ad that benefit is processed at NBC

YMMV

Well I don't exactly know the impact of moving to another state but you can change the address pretty easily in the official USCIS website. Plus people are moving constantly so it's something that is normal and they consider it.

I will try not to move though if it's not strictly necessary but anyway, do what you think is best for you and your family,

Good luck!

Adding on- your package is going to be processed at the service center first. The service center will process the EAD/AP and it will be mailed to whatever address they have on file you when they actually put it in the mail. So you can file with your current (old) address and then would need to do the change of address form when you move. The 485/130 part of the package (the greencard) gets processed first at the service center. From there it goes to your local office where you will wait for an interview slot to open. In some places there is a very long wait, other places are quicker. But processing times are always changing- they adjust workloads to try to not have such a backlog. Unfortunately covid has caused a lot of backlog. In general you should never base life decisions on immigration processes- its best to focus on living your life.
