I paid my NVC fees a couple of days ago and even though the money was taken out of my account.....the website still says that the payment is in processing....so I can't actually start to fill the form out yet.

I looked at some of the document requirements and a got heart burn when I saw that you not only have to provide a divorce decree for every past marriage but a marriage certificate as well and I have none.

So I called up the Maricopa County Recorders office in Phoenix AZ and requested a copy of my Marriage Certificate from 1990 just to find out that they don't issue a marriage certificate in AZ....so I ordered the next best thing ....a certified record of my marriage license......I hope it will suffice.

Then I was stumped on how I was going to get my marriage certificate from Cali Colombia where I was married in 2002. So I called a lawyer that lives in Cali and he said he would be happy to get me a copy of my marriage certificate for a fee.

I was trying to time my wife's immigrant visa to coincide with our second anniversary next Aug. so she would get a permanent green card....But it looks like we are way ahead of schedule for that.

And even though it would be cool to get a permanent GC, a temporary one it’s not that bad either. Removing Conditions on GC it’s easy to do

MY JOURNEY INTO GETTING A FIRST-TIME GREEN CARD, RENEWING A GREEN CARD, AND OBTAINING U.S. CITIZENSHIP:
