Are they conducting interviews in karachi? I put down karachi on the i130, would they change it to islamabad if karachi is closed?

They don’t do immigration interviews in Karachi unless you request it from us embassy and that also gets approved in rare cases only.

Will they automatically move it to islamabad if i put karachi on the I130?

I’m not sure as I don’t know anyone who put Karachi instead of Islamabad. They should do it as it’s the only one that’s applicable to you.

The next ILs will arrive on Monday now.

The only thing I know about them not being able to cover lots of DQ is that because of the long time frame between DQ and interviews, a lot of petitioners applied for and received their citizenship and upgraded their cases to IR cases from F category and if they have earlier DQ dates like say from 2019 then they’ll get priority over 2020 DQs.

You’ll probably get your IL in March or April but depends on how they schedule in the upcoming days and Feb.

They will almost always move it to Islamabad, but there is no harm in putting down Karachi (you never know if the rules change)

See above.  There is no harm in putting Karachi.

I know of many people who did.  They all got moved to Islamabad, but there is no harm in putting Karachi in case the rules change, or if you have a special situation.  I do know of people who have been interviewed in different embassys in countries other than their country of citizenship, so it is theoretically possible.

Yes me too. I want to be with my wife and son. My son was born last year in Pakistan and is a US citizen. He will be 1 year old next month and has never been to the US. 🙄 This wait is agonizing.

FYI, your son would be a dual citizen due to birth in Pakistan (Pakistan has birthright citizenship), and receive US citizenship through you as you have indicated.

About a year for CR1/IR1 and almost 2+ years for F categories...

Is this only for the NVC stage, after being DQ, or from when the I-130 is filed?  The other posts seem to indicate that it is from the DQ date, but this seems like a very long time...

Asking for one of my relatives who has not joined VJ yet.  IR5 category, applied May 2021.  The process used to take 1~1.5 years from I-130 to interview date.  What should they be expecting nowadays?

Yeah… it’s after DQ… They have scheduled interviews for people with Nov 23 DQ. Probably by next week the next round of ILs will get sent out

Depending on processing center it takes a while to get approved. But as of now it is taking 1-1.5 years just at NVC stage after DQ. They’re even taking time to DQ people from what I’ve seen…

My wife Priority date is 30NOV2018 and she got DQ on 30OCT2020. I added my newborn daughter as a derivative and she got DQ on 06FEB2022, my question is what DQ date would NVC consider to schedule interview and how long do I've to wait more.

Category is F2A

TIA!!

You have to send a request to NVC to combine the interviews of your wife and daughter as your daughter is a minor. After that they’ll go by the earlier DQ date to schedule both the interviews
