How do we get the form ds 5535? Do we email from embassy or nvc for it?

If the embassy told you to submit it then they will email it to you. If the embassy didn't ask for it then you can search for it and download it.

@zellahy@aishaTayyab

I submitted my wife's police certificate's more than 6 months back to NVC. We are not expecting an interview before June next year. Do you think we need to re-submit the police certificates or doesn't matter?

Hi guys,

This goes out to the folks who have had their interview.

How far can the petitioner accompany the applicant to the their interview?

Can the petitioner ride the shuttle and wait inside the US embassy?

If the interview is at 8 am, how early should the applicant arrive at the Diplomatic enclave?

Is there a canteen or something available at the waiting area for people accompanying the applicant?

Thank you for the detailed and thoughtful responses.

Kind regards,

Bonnie

The petitioner can ride the shuttle and go to the embassy but will have to wait outside in the area where the shuttle picks up people for the return trip. Gates open at 6:45 am so better to reach around that time. There is a canteen in the area where you register for the shuttle so the petitioner can stay there.

Moot point, police certificates are not required for Pakistan.

They aren't required but everyone who submitted one initially has to have an unexpired one.

So all police certificates made 2020 onwards are valid for 2 years... So no need to submit a new police certificate. Ours was more than a year old at time of interview and CO didn't ask us for a new one.
